The Most Important Thing

What do you think the most important thing is that you can do today? Eating, walking the dogs, going to work, getting the kids to school, maybe something else? Seems there is always so much to do and so little time to get in all done. You may find yourself feeling rushed, stressed or having to skip some things in order to get other important things on your to do list accomplished.Still, the things on your list may not be the things that matter most. Sometimes the little things that seem unimportant are the most important of all.

What matters most may be the kind word you say to encourage someone that is feeling hopeless, the prayer you raise up for an ailing friend, the hug you give to your child to show them your love, or the silence you keep while listening to your husband as he shares a story about something that frustrated him at work.

Jesus had much to achieve while on earth. He came to be the Savior of the World, to conquer sin and death, to restore the intimate relationship we have with our Heavenly Father. While there was much for him to accomplish, he knew that it was just as important to speak to the woman at the well, take time to listen to tax collectors and other deemed undesirable, heal the sick, and share the gospel. You have the same responsibility if you are a follower of Jesus Christ. Don't be so busy with day to day life that you forget to be like Jesus to others. See, the most important thing you can do today and every day is to follow Christ and be a reflection of Him and his love to everyone you encounter.

"There are three things that remain - faith, hope and love - and the greatest of the is love." Corinthians 13:13
