Following

Whether you realize it or not, you are a follower. You may not consider yourself one, in fact, you may think you are a leader. Well, that may be true. You may be a leader some of the time and you may be very independent most of the time.  Still, you are also a follower. You may follow certain celebrities, sport teams, or a political leader. You may follow the lead of your spouse, parent, or someone you respect. Following is possible when you trust or believe the leader and allow them to show you the way or influence you, your thinking, or your life.

When it comes to following, it matters who you give your heart, mind, and soul to. If it is Jesus Christ, you can trust that you are following the Perfect Leader. He will provide you with gentle but firm reminders when you are off track, as well as clear, and loving direction. He will  listen, encourage, support, and intervene when necessary, while allowing you to experience life in all its fullness. Will you always agree with where he leads you? No, quite honestly there will be times when you will doubt and question his Divine Wisdom. Still, in the end, it will be clear that there is no one else worth following then the One and Only Living God. He cares for you, created you and leads you in a way that no one else ever could.

"And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me." Luke 9:23
