Seasons

This week provided an opportunity to catch up with a colleague I worked with in the early 80's. She had recently retired and is enjoying a newfound freedom. We talked for quite a while about how time had just flown by. We shared the details of our lives and all that had transpired through the years. When we first worked together I was just beginning married life.  Soon after, I became a homeowner and a mom and life got very busy! The years passed quickly. Now with the kids all grown, and grandchildren in the picture, it is clear that life's seasons move at the speed of light. Still, each season of life has it own treasures, and holds its own beauty and experience.

Although life and seasons change, Jesus Christ remains the same. He is the one constant in all of life. No matter what challenges, surprises, or changes come your way on life's journey, you can count on Jesus to sustain you and see you through. He does not grow old or weary, and never needs time to readjust to all that is happening in the world. He is the source of life and all of the wonder that comes along with it. This season, and in all of the ones in your future, be strong in the Lord and enjoy all the grace, wisdom, and strength he provides.

He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers. Psalm 1:3
