Free in Christ

It is Memorial Day weekend. It is time to pause and remember those that paid the price, with their very lives,
for our freedom. We can never repay them or say enough about their heroism and commitment. Freedom is a gift that should never be taken lightly. We often lose sight of just how blessed we are to have freedom and fall short of appreciating it. There are many that do not enjoy freedom and are enslaved by their government, lifestyle, or own beliefs. These individuals need our prayer. They deserve to be freed from the bondage that keeps them from knowing the full joy of life that God designed them to have.

Are you celebrating your freedom in Jesus Christ? Do you appreciate all He did for you and all you have because of His victory? It is easy to compromise your freedom and give it away without even recognizing it. Some religious orders and individuals are happy to limit your freedom. They design and impose all sorts of rules and man-made hoops for you to jump through to reach a man-made milestone or level. They bind and limit you until you fully think that you have to earn your freedom. That is far from the truth. You are free in Christ when you know Him as your Lord and Savior. He already paid the price for your freedom. There is nothing that you need to do and nothing that you can do to earn your freedom or your way to be with Him forever in Heaven. Evaluate your life and your beliefs. Is there anything hindering your freedom in Christ? Address whatever it is and celebrate. You are free! Praise God and start living in a way that demonstrates the freedom Jesus has provided you.

Jesus replied, "You are slaves of sin, every one of you. And slaves don't have rights, but the Son has every right there is! So if the Son sets you free, you will indeed be free-" John 8:34-36
