At Arm's Length

If you are like most people, you spend at least part of your time interacting with electronic device. Computer, smartphone, tablet or TV; they all have a way of consuming a whole lot of time. Honestly, they are quite addictive and should come with a warning label. The truth is if you are not careful, you will find yourself spending more time with devices than with God.

God has the perfect plan to have a personal relationship with you. He sent his only Son, Jesus Christ, to bridge the gap that sin created between Him and you. He wants to have a close relationship with you. He wants to have a relationship where you spend time with Him in prayer and in His Word. Often, other things get in the way of that. Those things include electronic devices.

So, how much time have you spent this week on your smartphone texting, on the web surfing, or watching TV? Is it more or less time than you have spent with God? Electronic devices have a way of coming between God and you. They keep you from learning what you could about the Lord and about yourself. They interfere with the most important relationship you will ever have; a close relationship with God Almighty. Why not try disconnecting from devices and connecting with Jesus?  There is no other connection quite like the one that awaits you in Christ.

"For this people's heart has become calloused: they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them." Matthew 13:14-16
