Gift of The Savior

Tis the season! Tinsel and whites twinkle lights. Carolers and shoppers. Good will and wishes for Christmas blessings. There are lists being made and gifts being purchased. Hustle and bustle abound. In the midst of it all, the hunt is underway for the perfect Christmas gift. What do you get someone to show your appreciation and love?  A shirt, some pants or perhaps the latest electronic thing-a-majig will do. A pen and pencil set or a gift card should do the trick. Yes, the gift giver has many choices but the most perfect gift, the one that would last a lifetime and more, is often overlooked.

If you still have some gifts to run out for on Christmas Eve, you are likely not alone. Many last minute shoppers will fill malls and shopping centers across the country. Few though, will stop to consider the gift that most people on their list need more than anything; the gift of The Savior Jesus Christ. Jesus can not be wrapped and placed under the tree. There is no bow big enough to adorn Him. Still, He is the only gift that is absolutely essential to receive.

Many will open Christmas presents, some of which will end up needing to be returned. Jesus Christ fits everyone like a glove. He fills up any empty spaces and envelopes the mind, heart and soul perfectly. He is the gift of a life time and beyond. Best of all, there is no price to be paid. He truly is a gift!

This Christmas, why not give the gift of Jesus to someone you know? Be creative in your approach. Perhaps an invitation to attend church placed in a Christmas card or a quiet discussion about the gift of Christ over some Christmas tea. Nothing can be better than receiving the gift of the Savior Jesus Christ on Christmas.

"But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you: he is the Messiah, the Lord." Luke 2:10-11
