Picture Perfect

This past weekend our family was blessed with the celebration of the marriage of our daughter to a wonderful guy. The ceremony and reception dinner were held outside in a beautiful historic local park under the trees. The trees, flowers, strings of lights and paper lanterns created a magical setting. It was a miraculous day in many ways, including the weather. Southern California usually has mild fall weather with little, if any rain, and warm temperatures. This fall, however, the weather suddenly turned cold and rain was in the forecast. The day before the wedding was a rainy one indeed, as was the day following the wedding, The wedding day, though, was picture perfect! Yes, it was chillier than usual, but there was no wind and no rain. God provided the perfect day for the blessed event.

It is often difficult to let go and trust God's plan. Prayer and faith in His timing and purpose are the answer to what otherwise can be a nerve wracking life. What may appear to be a problem or untoward set of circumstances and timing, is usually just God's plan in action. When you experience life's trials, remember the death of Jesus Christ and what his family and followers must have thought at that time. What appeared to be a tragic and horrible life event was really the most miraculous and glorious of God's gifts being manifest. The picture perfect morning of the resurrection of Jesus would not have been possible without the seemingly tragic events of his life. God's perfect plan, constant care and control are perfect for sure.

Many, LORD my God, are the wonders you have done, the things you planned for us. None can compare with you; were I to speak and tell of your deeds, they would be too many to declare. Psalm 40:5
