Hello, Hello

Communication methods have come a long way from where they were years ago. Gone are the days of party lines and phone booths. Now almost every one has a cell phone or home phone. Texting and Facebook connects people in a way unthought of years ago. You can even Skype in a visit to see your loved ones or friends miles away. Yes, years ago there was morse code, and of course lighthouse signals, but nothing to compare with the current high tech connections of today.

Still, in spite of all this connectivity, there are people who are lonely, friendless, and longing for companionship. Jesus reached out to, and was a friend to, the undesirable. He spoke to, and had compassion for, those that were estranged, unpopular, and shunned by society. His example, and His command to love others as ourselves, challenges us to move beyond our comfort zone and help others. It doesn't take much really, A listening ear, smile, kind word, and some encouragement can go a long way. Say hello, lend a hand, be Jesus to someone and make a difference in someone's life.

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Colossians 3:12
