Walking on Water

One of my favorite miracle stories in the Bible is that of Jesus walking on water. Can you imagine the scene and the look that was on the faces of the apostles? The Bible tells us that they thought they say a ghost! Jesus was certainly providing them an opportunity to understand that he was God. He created the water and knew exactly how to navigate it in a way that no one else could. There he was encouraging Peter to walk on the water too. At first Peter was able to do so, but then he became afraid of the wind and began to sink.

What miracle have you asked God for lately? You may have prayed that he would heal you or a loved one, take away pain, cure a debilitating disease, re-establish your financial stability, or intervene in correcting an injustice or wrong that has befallen you. Whatever the case may be, do you truly believe that Jesus Christ has heard your request and will respond affirmatively if it is for your good? Or, are you, like Peter, hoping he will display a miracle but doubting that he really is capable? God has already demonstrated miracles in your life, He has blessed you and will certainly continue to do so. You just need to trust and believe.

Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?” Matthew 44:31
