Being Real

Genuine, honest, real people are hard to come by. So many people focus on hiding their real self, real looks, and real feelings. It can be difficult to tell the genuine article from the knock off. In these photos from my yard can you tell the real flowers from the fake?

You may be fooled if you just trust your eye. If you were in the yard with me you could feel the flowers or smell them to verify whether your guess was correct. On the surface they all look real but really three of them are impostors! I will tell you which one is the genuine live flowers in a bit. (No scrolling ahead to peek).

The world is full of phonies and the enemy is a master at making things that are fake, empty, and shallow seem real, glamorous, and promising. You need to be on the look out for these delusions.

You will be able to tell the truth from the lies when you listen with your heart, examine with your soul, and follow the Lord's direction. The things that are true, worthy, and pure will be evident to you. This is also true of people. You will have no trouble discerning those with integrity, that are honorable and godly from those that are not. You know the truth! Even with the flowers you could tell that the only real ones were the pink and white impatiens. Or were they?

"For the word of the LORD is right and true; he is faithful in all he does." Psalm 33:4
