Let Every Heart Prepare Him Room

It happens every Thanksgiving weekend. The day after Thanksgiving is the beginning of a very special event. No, it is not the start of shopping and sales but rather that start of decorating the house for Christmas. It literally takes days to accomplish Christmas decorating details. It starts with packing up some everyday things to make room for the tree and all the trimmings. Boxes are gathered from the dreaded closet under the stairs and the garage. As the nativities, stockings, garland, snowman and all the rest are unpack there is room made to place the usual photos, vases, books and things in exchange.

Making room and preparing for Christmas may start with the house but really that is just the material preparation. It is also time to prepare for Christ and making room for him in our lives. Let's face it, there are things that need to be put off or shut down too that may have crept into our lives and crowded out Jesus. The Christmas season is an perfect time to reflect on this and prepare room for Jesus in our everyday lives just as we are preparing our homes for Christmas .

How are your Christmas preparations going? Have you begun the process of getting rid of anything keeping you from Jesus so that you can have a blessed and beautiful Christmas? Christmas day will be here before you know it. Get ready! Prepare him room and be sure to make Jesus the reason for the season.

"and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them."  Luke 2:7
