Rest in Christ
There is much unrest in the world. You read and hear about it  and see the vivid high resolution pictures on TV and the web. Anger, turmoil, disappointment, concern and trouble often take center stage. Much closer to home, there is your own unrest. Financial matters, work, family, and the daily challenges of living in a society filed with too much stress and information can surely send you swirling. It is no wonder God set aside a great portion of each day for you to stop and sleep. If that were not required, you more than likely would skip that rest break to catch up on your life.

Life's storms and challenges arise almost on a continuous basis. It is impossible to keep up with it all. You know the expression "an object in motion tends to stay in motion". That is you. You  are an "object in motion". You are on the go, going on and on. You may not realize it, but you rarely even stop going (aside from the sleep you are required to get).

The opposite of being in motion, is being at rest. Sure, you think you have no time for rest. You can't even remember what rest looks like! Rest is defined by Webster's dictionary as "relief or freedom, especially from anything that wearies or disturbs. An interval of inactivity, repose, solitude or mental or spiritual tranquility. To be at ease, to have peace"

You have access to rest wherever you are, at any time, when you rest in Jesus Christ. The amazing thing is that you can rest in Him always! In that case you would live as "an object at rest tends to stay at rest". In Christ you can be still, calm, and assured that whatever the world spins your way will work out for your good. In other words, you rest in Jesus and the world spins instead of you spinning with the world. See, life is different when you rest in Christ.

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will findrest for your souls." Matthew 11:29
